SUSTAINABILITY
At Ringflow, we are committed to using ethical and sustainable practices across all areas of our work and we have taken rigorous steps to ensure that every gemstone used in our creations is ethically sourced and conflict free and all Ringflow packaging is made from 100% recyclable and reusable materials.
We take pride in the fact that 100% of the cast silver and gold used in our creations comes from guaranteed recycled sources and is fully compliant with the LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance and the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. All other precious metal is sourced in a way that does not cause, support or benefit unlawful conflict, or contribute to serious human rights abuses or breaches of international law and is subject to annual independent Conflict Metals audits.
Recycled silver can be reclaimed from old jewellery, photography and medical equipment and scrap metals. We also recycle all of our off-cuts which ensures that these precious, non-renewable natural resources will continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
Ringflow endeavours to keep excess waste and packaging to an absolute minimum as part of our sustainability practices. Therefore unless otherwise requested by a customer in our "order notes," we may enclose multiple items from a single order within a single gift box, although each piece will be separated from one another in an individual fabric pouch or pocket.
All of our diamonds are conflict free and purchased in compliance with the United Nations (UN) resolutions and corresponding national laws. Moreover, our diamonds adhere to the World Diamond Council System of Warranties Guidelines (SDC SoW) and sanctions of the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). All other stones are sourced from suppliers that are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).
RJC members commit to and are independently audited against the RJC Code of Practices – an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals. The Code of Practices addresses human rights, labour rights, environmental impact, mining practices, product disclosure and many more important topics in the jewellery supply chain.
These audits ensure that our gemstones are strictly sourced under the following conditions:
- No child labour
- Adequate ventilation
- Available health care
- Reasonable work hours
- Payment of fair wage
- Allowance for time off and reasonable vacation
- Compliance with local labor and pollution laws
- Adherence to import/export laws and consumer policies
