Make your own wedding bands

As a guide, a slim band starts from $750 in 9k gold, $950 in 14k and $1,250 in 18k, and medium and wide bands come in quite a bit higher. You can see an approximate price for your exact choices in the Ring Builder above. Once we know what you're after, we'll send through an exact quote for each ring before anything is locked in.

Pricing is based on the weight of gold in each ring, so it comes down to the karat, the profile, the width and the thickness of the band. A wider or thicker band uses more gold, so the price rises proportionately with it. White gold costs a little more than yellow or rose, as it's a heavier alloy and costs more per gram.

Ring size doesn't change the price, except for sizes above Z, which incur an additional 10% fee due to the increased cost of materials.

Solid 9k, 14k or 18k gold, in yellow, white or rose. Each ring can be different, so you don't need to choose the same gold as your partner.

Slimmer bands (2 to 3mm) suit a delicate look or sit neatly beside an engagement ring, while 5 to 6mm bands feel bolder. The easiest way to decide is to print our Ring Size & Width Guide, cut out a few widths and wrap them around your finger.

Flat, half round, comfort fit, oval and round. You can see each one, with a cross-section of its shape, in the Ring Builder above. Round comes in widths up to 3mm, and the rest from 2 to 6mm. If you're not sure which suits you, pick the closest and we'll help you decide in your quote.

We'd recommend white gold instead. Sterling silver is much softer than gold, so over the years it scratches, dents and can bend out of shape, and it tarnishes and wears thin with daily wear. White gold gives you the same look and holds up for a lifetime.

Unfortunately, platinum isn't a metal we're able to offer in our workshops. It needs very high heat and specialised equipment to work by hand, so we stick to gold, which gives you a beautiful, hard-wearing band.

Our workshops are all about making clean, timeless bands by hand, so stone setting and more sculptural designs like twists aren't something we can do in the studio. There's still plenty of room to make your rings your own, though.

Absolutely! You can stamp letters, numbers or symbols on the inside of your band, add a hammered, filed or stamped texture to the outside, and choose between a soft matte finish or a high shine.

Some bands are too thin, or too rounded on the inside, for a stamp to sit cleanly and read clearly. If that's the case with yours, we'd recommend taking your finished rings to an engraver, who can add your details for you. We don't offer engraving in the studio, but it's always the last step for a ring, so it's easy to have done afterwards.

None at all! Our workshops are beginner friendly, and one of our jewellers will guide you through every step, from shaping your band to the final polish.

Yes, your wedding band workshop is a private class, just for the two of you.

Yes! Your rings are finished in the workshop, so you'll leave wearing them (or saving them for the big day).

Once your gold arrives, we'll find a day and time that suits you both. We're flexible during the week, though Saturdays are usually taken up by our public classes.

Unfortunately not, as we order the gold in to your exact choices before the workshop. With the price of gold where it is, keeping every width, thickness, karat and colour on hand in every profile would mean a huge amount of stock, and most of it would never be used. On request, we can also send you a 3D mock-up of your chosen band in your size, so you can see how it'll look before you lock it in.

Yes, we need your ring sizes to order your gold. If you already know them, there's no need to come in before your workshop. If you don't, our Ring Size & Width Guide will help you work them out, or you're welcome to pop into the studio for a quick ring sizing appointment.

We order your gold to the sizes shown on your invoice, so please check them before you pay. If a size turns out to be different on the day, any extra gold needed is charged at cost, and if we don't have the extra gold on hand, we may need to hold on to that band until it arrives.

Once you're happy with your quote, we'll send through an invoice. As soon as it's paid we'll order your gold, then book in your workshop for a time that suits you.
